Misfits on E4 – The Good news and Bad news…
Misfits TV – Cast:
Robert Sheehan aka Nathan aka ‘funny prick’,
Iwan Rheon aka Simon aka ‘gets the girl’,
Nathan Stewart-Jarrett aka Curtis aka ‘shags the girls’,
Antonia Thomas aka Alisha aka ‘is the girl’,
Lauren Socha aka Kelly aka ‘massive tits’ (and can read minds)…
By now if you don’t know we here at Cellar Door have been keen followers of Misfits from day one (principally because it was suggested that one of the characters bears a striking resemblence to one of our members lol). If you are new to Misfits then check out our earlier post from last year by clicking on this link ‘Misfits TV show explained’ So what’s the good news that we have to share with you…
If the BBC , Channel 5 and ITV didn’t already realise how E4 is leaving them behind with their audacious programming, they were provided with a rude awakening when Misfits was nominated in four categories for this year’s BAFTA Television Awards. This follows on from their 2010 success of winning ‘Best Drama’. It’s great to see the British Academy establishment applaud the efforts of Howard Overman‘s script, the programmers (and cast) for not sitting on the fence, with nominations received in the Best Drama Series and New Media categories. This adds to the recognition of Robert Sheehan and Lauren Socha being up for Best Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress. As for the bad news…
Robert Sheehan aka Nathan will not be appearing in Season 3, which is scheduled to hit our screens later this year
It was almost inevitable that he would move on and as we stated in our blog last year:
“Robert Sheehan who plays Nathan is a future film star in the making – an absolute scene stealer”.
Whilst we anxiously look forward to the next dose of Misfits, Robert’s departure is proof that all good things come to an end. How much longer will the rest of the characters remain? They are uniformly brilliant in character mode and just like Robert’s recent success in the hit film ‘Killing Bono’, it would not be a surprise to see the silver screen hold up the Bat sign, calling on the talents of Nathan, Lauren, Antonia and Iwan.
