Company Results

Argos have reported a 1.1% increase in total sales to £4.0bn for the 52 weeks to 28 February 2015. Like-for-like sales increased by 0.6% for the same period.
ASOS have reported a 20% increase in group sales to £298.3m for the three months to 28 February 2015. Total retail sales increased by 19% to £290.1m while UK retail sales increased by 30% to £126.6m for the same period.
Boohoo.com have reported a 27% increase in revenue to £139.9m for the year to 28 February 2015, while UK sales increased by 33% to £94.3m for the same period.

Dreams have reported a 0.8% increase in revenue to £201.6m for the year to 24 December 2014, while like-for-like sales increased by 7.8% for the same period.
Homebase have reported a 0.7% decrease in sales to £1.5bn for the 52 weeks to 28 February 2015, while like-for-like sales increased by 2.3% for the same period.
Inchcape have reported a 2.7% increase in sales to £6.7bn for the year to 31 December 2014. Like-for-like sales increased by 2.9% and pre-tax profit before exceptional items increased by 10.4% to £303.2m for the same period.
The John Lewis Partnership have reported a 7.6% increase in gross sales to £10.9bn for the 53 weeks to 31 January 2015. Waitrose have reported a 6.5% increase in gross sales to £6.5bn while John Lewis have reported a 9.2% increase in gross sales to £4.4bn for the same period. Partnership’s profit before tax and exceptional items decreased by 9.0% to £342.7m.

Morrisons have reported a 4.9% decrease in total turnover to £16.8bn for the year to 01 February 2015. Like-for-like sales (excluding fuel & VAT) decreased by 5.9%, while loss before tax was reported at £792m for the same period.
N Brown have reported a 3.6% increase in group sales for the 13 weeks to 28 February 2015.
Ocado have reported a 19.2% increase in gross group sales to £271.1m for the 12 weeks to 22 February 2015. Gross retail sales increased by 15.2% to £252m while average orders per week increased by 18.1% to 183,000 for the same period.

The BRC-KPMG Online Retail Sales Monitor, February 2015, has revealed that online sales of Non-Food products in the UK grew by 8.3% compared to February 2014, almost in line with the three-month average growth of 8.8%. Online sales represented 17.5% of total Non-Food sales in February 2015, against 16.6% in February 2014. Toys & Baby Equipment was the second fastest growing online category for the second consecutive month, followed by Household Appliances. Health & Beauty also experienced its best performance since February 2013. Online sales contributed 1.0 percentage points to the growth of Non-Food total sales in February 2015.

According to a survey conducted by Voucherbox.co.uk, the number of people who frequently seek out discounts when making purchases online grew from 23% in 2014 to 33% in 2015. UK shoppers’ use of voucher codes has increased by 43% in 2015. The survey showed that those who always use a voucher code when shopping increased by 70%, up-to 17% of all consumers, while regular users increased by 27%, representing 16% of UK shoppers. While, the number of people who have never used an online discount dropped to 35%, as compared to 50% in 2014.
