Cellar Door presents Exposure Record Label party at Lost Format Society 18.06.16
Exposure Records is an up and coming record label formed in 2015 to showcase artists in the bridge between house and melodic techno music. Based in London, UK, the label intends to shed light on underground artists and bring them closer to the mainstream audience through a better understanding of energy and emotion. Deep rumbling grooves and melodic highs flow together to form the sound of Exposure Records.
Artists performing on the day include:
DJ & Producer Valeo is an electronic music artist from London, signed to Exposure Records. Valeo’s house and techno sound is strongly influenced by both modern electronic and classical artists.
Being influenced by music all around the world has been a integral part of Sculptures life, being able to play various instruments got him to grips with music from a young age. Being heavily involved with underground music in London for well over a decade helped him to discover various different sub genres. Over time his musical taste expanded into a more open minded territory as a his passion did not sit within one particular genre but in what underground club culture stands for as a community and movement. He is currently collaborating with many industry heavyweights, making new music with his exact expression on each groove, making a impact with his dark, euphoric no-nonsense house approach.
Sui Generis’s sound is born from a love of underground London basement raves. His music draws as much inspiration from those hedonistic parties as it draws from the early foundations of soulful Chicago house music and dark, techno influences from Detroit. Sui is receiving early support from key figures in the scene such as Jackmaster, Eats Everything, anna lunoe, in addition to Skream, who included a number of Sui Generis tracks in the Miami mix compilation together with house veteran Pete Tong on Defected Records.
With music in his blood, ambition and a rare talent, James was determined to create and forge his own individual style on the heady world of underground house music. Right from the start he took the music industry by the horns and has successfully managed to make a name for himself. His first public performance saw him as a guest at Derek The Bandits’ (a well known South African Radio personality) “Sound Republic” party. Slightly raw but eager he left his mark and was offered a residency at one of the original “all weekend” clubs in Johannesburg, Sunnyside Up.
He has also been one of the top resident DJs at South Africa’s longest running and most successful club, ESP.
